I could be wrong but i think it wouldn't matter wrt your milk. Someone more informed than me will be along to talk soon i'm sure. I think if you can drink while bf-ing you're prolly ok with a weak spliff, as it's absorbed into the blood stream less quickly (i think)

Certainly I someone I know has smoked weed whilst bf-ing and noticed no adverse effects in her baby!

You've done well not smoking during pregnancy (I assume) and breastfeeding.

Why shouldn't you stop breastfeeding at 6 months, whatever your reasons?

I'm not saying she shouldn't stop Cote, if she wants to then of course she can. I'm just saying that having a spliff need not be a factor in that. As long as the OP isn't mainlining smack or snorting coke at every opportunity she gets (and yes I have known mothers who have done this and bf-ed and their babies are fine although of course i would not advocate it as a lifestyle choice) then i think a weak apliff should be ok.

From what I can tell it seems to be saying that there could be a small risk in smoking cannabis while bf-ing, but IMO (and it is only my opinion) putting your bay onto formula long-term would be a higher risk than him being exposed to a small amount of marijuana.

So if it's a choice between smoking a spliff and formula, i'd choose smoking a spliff every time. Of course there are the are normal risks if you are co-sleeping etc, and you'd need to make sure you weren't so out of it that your judgement was impaired and you were incapable of looking after your baby. But that kind of goes without saying, really!

Personally, I think you'd regret it if you gave up BF for the sake of a quick and not terribly good high.

So share a spliff with someone, make it a weak baggy one, use some nasty home grown shit and don't give up BF.

How long have you been off it for? Because IME it does tend to be - as TC says - very unsatisfying. You can't smoke in the house, for one, so gone are the days of lounging on a beanbag playing Grand Theft Auto and getting stoned.

Also, do you smoke solids or green? Soapbar would be a higher risk IMO as you don't know what crap's been melted into it.

I think you'd be fine to have your spliff & carry on bf'ing.

Everything I've read says that it's better to bf whilst drinking & taking recreational drugs, than it is not to bf.

So true. I think you should defo have a nasty homegrown baggy old tampax of a joint with really old stale tobacco that has been scraped up from teh bottom of the box and when you inhale bits of twiggy tobacco get sucked into your moth and down your throat. That'll kill the urge to relive the moment again for another 6 months or so I reckon!
