Personally, I think that better education for HVs and MWs and hence better support for new mothers is going to help mroe people bfeed than extending maternity leave. The more people who successfully establish breastfeeding, the more there will be wanting to continue feeding on their return to work, and the more pressure there will be on businesses to be more supportive (not that I would say no to longer maternity leave, you understand!).
