because i just realised that this is the longest i have exclusively breastfed for

With DS1 i managed 2 weeks, ds2 was mix fed from about 10 weeks and i gave up completely at 15/16 weeks.

ds3 is 15weeks on thursday and its all meeeeeeeeHe won't take a bottle even of expressed milk and its not been without its problems - he is an every 2 hour feeder and we have gone thru mastitis, threatened mastitis, my wobbles over eating properly, and i am, for the most part, really enjoying it!

sorry, am not posting this to gloat, am posting so that when he has another growth spurt i can look at the post and remember that its a Good Thing

Well done That is really lovely

Well Done you and pat away...you deserve it

Having had recurrent blocked ducts and mastitis with DD, i feel your pain, but we worked through it as well, and I only stopped at 10 mionths due to being pregnant again and it all getting a bit tricky to feed.

I found that after 16 weeks it was an absolute breeze and all my previous woes disappeared as if by magic.

Keep up the good work

Congratulations!

have to say i am bloody knackered but when i look at him and his chubby cheeks i cant help but feel proud of myself

Thank you Mumsnet

I had ZERO support with ds1. In fact, i was told not to bother as i was too young and my milk would be no good if it came in at all

with ds2, he had other issues which turned out to be milk intolerance. if i had known i could have done something to help him but there were other people who were better at bf than I was who i couldn't go to as they were needing support for PND so i stopped

my story is similar BD in that I had no support with DS1....(well my sister, but she had no knowledge of the mechanics of it all; it just worked for her(....but with DD thanks to MN and kellymom, and a fab PN ward midwife and the local baby cafe (run by my community midwife) and a HV/GP team who know about the mechanics and are supportive, we got off to a flier and any problems were dealt with quickly. With No3 I'm determined to keep going until baby self weans
