Hungrier than ever at 19 weeks - is my breast milk drying up? should I wean?

My ds is 19 weeks old and has always had an appetite!! He was exclusively bf until 3 months and now, on hv's advice, has one or two supplementary bottles a day. He had settled down to a 3 hourly cycle during the day and was sleeping well at night - normally 6 hours sleep, then a feed and then 3 hours sleep. Over the last week, he has suddenly started waking every two hours at night for food - not only is it exhausting but it is such a change in his behaviour. I am concerned that my breast milk is not satisfying him anymore and that I may need to start weaning. Has anyone experienced this and, if so, any ideas??

There was a thread this week very similar here. Typical of this age and not necessarily solved by weaning.

Thanks for the link through! Sounds like it is pretty textbook which is reassuring. I wonder why it happens? Bizarre.
