Extended breastfeeders - what bras do you wear??

Do you still wear nursing bras? Ds is 11months and even tho I want to stop bf we are still going and bf every few hours.

I have not brought any new nursing bras as I think it is a waste of money and I like kidding myself into thinking I will stop bf soon

I find if I wear underwired bras which I always wore before I was pregnant it is difficult to bf in. But I want to have a nice shape again. Also don't want to spend loads on bras untill I have stopped bf and will then treat myself to some nice underware.

I recently treated myself to 2 new nursing bras. I only had 2 which I got at the end of my pregnancy and was feeling very frumpy. i got remeasured at John Lewis and had gone down 2 back sizes. the lady told me what size to get and actually suggested i buy them online where there'd be more choice!!

I decided that i'd had more maternity bras than nursing bras and at 9 mo had now been bfing longer than been pg! Anyway got 1 black and 1 beige from figleaves and have been astounded by the difference i think they make to my figure. i feel a lot more confident wearing them than my old (slightly baggy ones!).

I got two lovely ones off ebay brand new.
I only payed for one and she included the other for free as she never bf. Still in box with tags from John Lewis for £6.00 including postage!

I have three from the Elle Macpherson range. I have had possibly 30 or so bfing bras (been bfing for 4 years now ), but these are the best so far. They're not cheap, but check out Ebay for bargains. They give me so much more shape than any others I've tried. Just think of the money you're saving on formula and organic free-range happy cow milk

I'm still bf at 10 months and have been back in my regular bras for a couple of months now.

I am still in my nursing bras but since we have cut down to two BFs a day (DS is 16mo) my boobs have shrunk so I really need some new bras. I have worn my old underwired ones a few times but they dig in a bit and it's very awkward to feed in them.

I switched back to underwired when I got dd down to 2 feeds a day, but then she increased her feeds again, so now I mostly wear nursing bras, with underwire only when I am pretty sure that I won't need to feed in a rush or out of the house for a good few hours. Dd is 2.4. Guess I'm going to be in nursing bras for a good while longer as ds due October, so I bought some new ones recently from figleaves.

I wear either nursing bras or underwired as ds (13mths) tends to only feed morning and bedtime. I just whip off my underwired one to feed him at home lol! If I needed to feed him when away from home and I was wearing an underwired one, I'd probably just slip each arm out of the strap and then sort myself out in the ladies afterwards.

haven't worn a nursing bra since he was 6 months old.

a well fitting underwired one is fine.... you just have to make sure it fits really well and doesn't put pressure on your boob.

i used to pull the cup down and feed but i was wrecking the underwire so now i unhook at the back and lift it up.

I splurged £300 on new nursing bras from here in January, A bit of a birthday treat as I had been breastfeeding for nearly three years and tandem feeding for 1 and just felt I deserved it! DD is nowhere near ready for stopping feeding yet so I thought it was a good investment, after all I had saved money by not buying formula, I say tying to justify it

ds is 3 and i have been back in underwired for nearly 2 years now. i have never had any problem feeding in a normal bra.

have never changed size either, even when pg / early bf only a bit bigger and that was more likely down to extreme troughing.

Thanks for the replys everyone, just wanted to see if everyone else gets fed up of feeling frumy and wering those white bras that are turning grey

I probably should treat myself to some decent nursing bras as I will probably be bf for ever lol

And I have saved alot of money by bf as ds drinks alot of milk, would of cost us a fortune...

dd1 is 15 months and I've been wearing my old (as in pre baby and nice) bra for the last month or so

Also my pre-pregnancy bras were all push up bras really, some people say that those type of bras might cause problems while bf

These are a good compromise - proper feeding bras with drop cups but underwire as well to give you a much better shape. I've been wearing them since ds2 was 3mo and they are so comfy.

mummyrayjay I did, I bought about 8 bras, some matching knickers and a couple of Bravado nursing tops. I especially love my Hot Milk bras, I just feel less frumpy and that I have a bit more going on in my life than just feeding two children when I am wearing them!

well underware can make you feel good even if you are wearing boring mummy clothes..

I use underwired nursing bras - they have a drop cup so easy to access but the underwire gives a nicer shape. The brand is called Anita and I got them from Figleaves. A bit on the expensive side but TBH at my cup size most bras are expensive anyway.

Ok, I know it's evil but I bought a couple of underwired t-shirt bras from Primark and they pull down fine to bf 14month old. Also if they get buggered by pulling them, it's fine as they only cost £6. But I've had 3 for 4 months now and they're fine.

Normal underwireds from about 10 mo (DS is 20 mo). I hate nursing bras as I need the extra support (G cup).

That is the thing, I dont want to spend alot on bras untill i have finished bf and my size has setteled down...
