Latch issues - lipstick shape nipple

Hi All,
just wondering if someone can give me remote diagnosis of bf issue?

My nipple has lipstick shape after my 10 week old DD finishes her feed.
I know this indicates shallow latch and I’ve been trying my best to help her correct that since she was born. So, it’s been 10 weeks of feeds with various discomfort for me (and possibly more for my DD, have another thread on feeding issues).

What I noticed recently, however, is that my nipple lipstick shape changed and it’s only ‘blunted’ at the very tip and not half way down. So it actually looks less lipsticky, if that makes sense?

Also the ridge on my nipple migrated from the middle of the nipple, more towards my cleavage. I would say from being 50-50 now it’s like 80-20 closer to the cleavage.

Not sure if that makes sense?

My DD grew a bit, so I noticed I was keeping her too high up to fit her bum in my elbow hook, so now I position her much lower.

Could this mean I was always keeping her too high/above in alignment with my nipple?

I do nose-to-nipple alignment, but then I find myself just shifting her outwards as my nipples are already pointing outwards away from her mouth.

Could this be something with her mouth changing as she grows bigger?

I used to get this as my baby had a tongue tie. Maybe look into that

@Oniranu
Do you remember what type of tie was your baby having?
My DD has a posterior tie, but I was told it’s minor and might not be suitable for sniping.
We're waiting for an ENT appointment.

In general she sticks her tongue out way past the gum, but then she also sleeps with her mouth a bit open and tongue is visible.

No sorry I don’t remember what type exactly but I remember his was right at the tip. he could hardly lift his tongue and when he did, it formed a heart shape.

I got it every time until at least 6 months. I haven't checked recently, but i think it's not at noticeable now at 9 months at his mouth is bigger. No problems with latch and baby grew fine. I have very small nipples so DS doesn't need to open wide for an effective latch, which then squashes my nipples. He could stick his tongue out at me like a lizard from birth, definitely no tongue tie. I had a consultant check and went to a consultant run feeding group just to make sure! It's a distention matter if you think there's a problem though.
