Ok, I know babies get distracted when feeding around 4 mths but this is RIDICULOUS, I'm worried about my supply now

Yesterday, my ds who is 4.5 months barely fed at all. Probably about 2 reasonable sized feeds over 24 hours. It was hot here, and his nappies were not as wet as usual. He only wants to feed from one particular boob during the day (to be honest I might partly be encouraging that because it's the one I feel more 'comfortable' feeding from - he lies better on that side, latches on better etc, and it means it's more discreet in public without him flailing around and wailing at the other boob!) He had been waking more at night for a week or two, seemingly to make up for lack of milk in the day, but now he's back to twice (one of them a dreamfeed) He's also teething, one bottom tooth through the gum, the other nearly out. I'm starting to worry about my supply now, will it be able to cope with his rubbish feeding?!

It's a bit hard to tell from what you say whether he's taking enough. How does he seem generally - happy/alert or miserable/listless? How many times does he latch on but not seem to take much, besides the 2 'reasonable' ones? If he's taking small amounts often (and efficiently), it's probably fine, though you're right to keep an eye on the nappies. Can you carry him about with you and just offer as often as possible?
For the difficult side, do you ever have a chance to retreat to your bedroom and get the 2 of you comfortable together and just take as much time as needed to get the feed going?

Having exactly same problem here. ds2 is 3 months and is chewing on his fist constantly but some days seems like he barely feeds.

He's really whingy too. I keep thinking he's hungry but if i offer him boob he acts like I'm trying to feed him poison. Is it possible he's chewing becauuse of teeth this early?
