stopping breastfeeding - any right order to drop feeds?

Hi there,

I think the time is right to stop breastfeeding. I already give my ds a bottle just before I go to bed as a dreamfeed and would like to start dropping other feeds. Just wondered if there was an correct order to drop feeds.

Thanks

I don't think so, but I would avoid dropping two feeds in a row to give your breasts time to accommodate the reduction. You might want to keep the feeds that are most convenient to you for longer, eg night feeds or first thing in the morning before you have got your act together, etc.

On a similar theme, I am reducing my feeds and for the last week or so have only been doing night feeds. DS is on bottle feeds for the rest of the day and I am not expressing. How much longer do you think I could feed just at nights without the milk drying up? I feel like there is nothing there in comparison to a couple of weeks ago when I was full a lot of the time. I would like to carry on feeding him at night only for a little while longer but not sure if that is realistic.
