My DD is 14 weeks & BF. She has now started to wake in the night at least every 2 hours from having previously slept through.

Is this the dreaded growth spurt or is she just a little unsettled? I feel like I'm functioning on half mast again and it's getting to me. I need to know that an end will be in sight.

At the mo am trying to introduce a bottle to give me some sleep time in the evening but she's refusing and having an active 2 year old this is tiring me again.

So....after all the waffling what I'm trying to ask is, is this a growth spurt and normal baby behaviour as at the moment can't remember the normal baby behaviour

Thanks

I think it is developmental - more to do with awareness of the environment than hunger. It is a time when lots of people start using formula or weaning in the belief that their babies are hungry - only to find they still wake up.

It is a phase and hopefully will only last a short while (all 3 of mine did it at about that age but only for a few weeks I think).

Oh definately a growth spurt, sure my DS had one around 16 weeks - I already can't remember and he is only 6 months old! Must be difficult when you have a toddler too. Hope it settles down soon for you.

Ah thanks it helps to vent it and get others views on it as my DP is as good as useless when it comes to BF!

I hope it passess soon!

Thank you so much!

I posted something v similar when my DS was 16 weeks, (he's 6 months now) and can confirm it's a growth spurt and totally normal. I have an active 2 year old too and feel your tiredness!

I have always found that when I am getting to the end of my tether my DS changes his behaviour - very obliging of him ! Mind you it works the other way too, I thought he was going to start sleeping through at 12 weeks !
