Sore nipples but only at the evening feed

DS is 7 weeks and feeds well. He usually eats around 7am, 10am, 2pm, 5pm and 6.30 - I don't get sore nipples for any of the feeds except the last one.

We've worked hard on the latch and I don't think he's doing anything different at that feed. He is getting sleepy but I make sure he's still positioned properly and if he gets a bit lazy I unlatch him and start again.

Any ideas what could be making me sore for just the one feed? It seems a bit odd and I'm not sure what to do about it!

I remember this. I put it down to having less milk by bedtime feed and dd having to suck harder.

Ooh that could be it. Maybe I'll just have to lump it then! It's not agonising like it was when my nipples were cracked in the first few days, just sore, so I know I can cope with it! Thanks.

Apply Lansinoh nipple-cream an hour before the last feed, leave breasts uncovered, then feed as usual; it should make a difference.
