Should I wait after having a glass of wine to breastfeed?

I’ve had a glass of wine here and there since having my baby three months ago, and each time waiting two hours to feed him. The NHS etc all say this is what should be done. But then I read all over forums that it’s not necessary to wait after having a drink or two. What do others do and, if you don’t wait, having you noticed any difference in your baby/how they sleep?

It depends on how big that glass of wine is, but no, I never waited from one actual glass of wine.

the alcohol in your milk is the same as in your blood.

No, in fact I believe that the safest time to drink is while you’re actually feeding as the alcohol hasn’t had time to reach your milk yet.

I never touched a drop while I was pregnant but I was fairly relaxed when I was breastfeeding as the levels are so low.

The amount of wine it would take in your milk to affect the baby would leave you in a bad way (and probably leave you incapable of feeding).

one glass isn’t going to affect milk/baby at all. The risk is really if you drink and are unsafe to hold baby, which is unlikely after 1 glass of wine.

Nope, no need.
