Hi, just stopped bf'ing my 15 month old ds three days ago. Was feeling rough yesterday and feel worse today - tired and quite sick.

Do you think this could this have anything to do with stopping? Would welcome any idea's!

Could be hormones - have you tired evening primrose or similar?

Watch out for mastitis - flu-like syptoms and shivery/achy all over?

I feel like that sometimes when I am at work and haven't been able to express. No idea how to help though. Hope you feel better soon.

The milk being absorbed back into your bloodstream can give your fluey feelings - something to do with your body not recognising it as its own, and producing antibodies to it? Sorry, not a very good explanation but that's how I understand it.
You know you can express a little for comfort without affecting your milk drying up very much? Hopefully it will pass soon.

Thanks for your messages - I never realised that stopping could make you feel like this!

Effie, might try it, thank you

gagarin, I don't think it's mastitis but shall certainly keep an eye out!

Bumper, glad I'm not odd! It's nice to know someone else has felt like this too, even though it can't be nice for you either...

Franny, that makes sense - told dh and he said 'why were we never told this at nct??!' Feels like something is definately going on, hope it stops soon!

OMG - bizarre reading this. Last night was night 3 of night weaning DS2 (he only has about 3 feeds during day but would have sucked all night) and for the last 2 dyas I've been feeling terrible. Very, very cold; numb skin, aching joints stonking headache and last night I was swaeting horribly.

Eek
