Do all babies have noticeable growth spurts?

That is, from a feeding perspective. I ask this because mine doesn't. My DD2 is 14 weeks and, while I really noticed the 3wk-ish growth spurt, I haven't really noticed any since. DD1's growth spurts, on the other hand, were clearly marked. Just wondered if anyone else found their babies weren't having traditional feeding-frenzy growth spurts.

And I do realise that I've completely jinxed myself and she will be attached to my boob constantly for the next 72 hours.

Nope.

I think the term "growth spurt" is misleading, really.

I thought about it a lot when I was bfeeding DS2. He did seem to want feeding more often some days, but I want to eat more some days than others. But in the early weeks/months, I could express enough to fill a 9oz bottle inside 20 minutes, no trouble - so I'm not convinced he needed to feed more to up my supply.

Babies are funny buggers. Helps to remember that.

I never noticed them with ds1 (but then i was wandering around in blissfull ignorance in those days!)

I think ds2 is having one now. Well atleast I hope he is a the past two nights he's woken for an extra feed when previously he was going about 6 hours.

DD still has them and she is 3 when she drinks 2 pints of milk a day and eats all her meals ( and she is notoriously a Bad Eater) ,lasts about 4 -5 days and then all her trousers are flapping round her ankles.

she definitely , as did DS have noticeable growth spurts as a baby too

as long as your baby is happy and feeding and you are responding, don;t worry

ditto hunker re babies being funny buggers! once you think you have cracked it, they do it all totally different!

Thanks everyone.

It's something I've been wondering about as I've never met anyone in RL who has said their baby doesn't have growth spurts, so to speak.
