Sorry to ask what might seem obvious to some but people are always saying breast is best but it seems that this is just a saying or am I wrong?

I have been b/f for 8months now and it's great. When I first started, it was sore and now it's an automatic response to latch her on.

My mum even said, "Are you to tight to pay for formula?"....I couldn't believe my ears. Now she's fine with it.

At the end of the day, "Mums knows whats best".

Completely unhelpful to this discussion I know but ks - if long term breastfeeding is what helped you get your current figure I think I'll be doing it for the rest of my life

hi prufrock it doesn't always work I managed to put on weight while breastfeeding as I was so hungry when doing it. Only managed to lose weight (and then not all after 5 years....excuses)when got rid of those breastfeeding hormones.

That does actually give me hope CAM - the breastfeeding route doesn't seem to be working miracles at the moment

agree with Cam - always starving while bf as was everyone else I know who wopped them out. Obviously we weren't alone as why else would Mothercare's treetops cafe have stocked yummy vanilla slices?
