DS1 is 6mo, being weaned ATM, eats three tiny meals a day and takes 1 bottle of formula at night IF he wakes up more than once (so that DH can do it while I sleep). He wakes more than once quite a bit.

He's just gone to a CM 2 days a week, MOn and Tues. Today I have flu, also my period started and I've been expressing all day but only got 30ml of milk. I normally get over 100ml.

He's only been at the CM for 3 weeks, ie. this is is third week.

I've noticed boobs not as full but DS1 not hungry. Assumed that things would even out with the introduction of solids anyway and that feeding twice a day (which is what I'm aiming for as he is weaned so I can continue to bf for 12 mo plus) still meant your supply was OK.

But am now worried. Have I effected supply? If so, can I do anything to reverse the trend?

On nights where he has been at CM I do all the feeds and try and feed frequently the day after to make up for it.

any advice welcome - don't want to give up now!!

The amount you get from expressing is nothing to do with how much milk you have for your baby, so don't use it as an indication, though I expressed full time for 18 months and did find that if I was very low with a cold etc the amount I got dipped - but only temporarily.

After a few months your breasts get so used to milk making that it is more on demand and you don't store as much - so they will not 'feel' as full but there will still be plenty. If your DS isn't complaining that is a good sign.

If you are worried about your supply you can sort it out simply by expressing/feeding more often, especially at night. Shouldn't take more than a couple of days to see a difference.
