Giving up breastfeeding - advice needed as boobs really sore!

I stopped breastfeeding my 6.5 mo last Monday after slowly dexcreasing the breastfeeds over 3 weeks, however I am still making milk and leaking all over the place and my boobs are so sore (but not really lumpy). When does the milk stop, also do I need to empty them at all?

do you think you cut down a bit quick ? could you go back to feeding once a day for another couple of weeks ?

Alternatively a warm bath, above the nipples & a gentle squeeze to ease the engorgement ?

It's miserable having sore boobs, as I said, I'd be tempted to continue with one feed a day. The relief will be great !

Thanks for that, I will try the bath thing over the next couple of days, I am loathe to go back to bf as she wouldn't take a bottle for a long time and wasn't sleeping for more than 2 hours at night when I was bf so I am scared that I will have to go through all that again!

what about giving her a morning feed - my boobs are always massive in the morning, then it shouldn't interfere with the sleep.

If it helps, my dd wasn't sleeping at night, so I moved into the other bedroom (she was in a crib next to our bed), & made my hubby go & see her when she cried. After I think 2 nights, she was going through & has been an excellent sleeper ever since. I don't think at this age they wake up because they are hungry, but becuase of habit.

Hope it works out, no sleep/sore boobs = unhappy mummy !
