What's the dosage of Fluconazole for thrush

Need some advice on what dosage of fluconazole to take.

I have thrush, as does DS2, but the Dr wouldn't prescribe Fluconazole as I'm breast feeding (which is why I have it in my breasts!!!) so I have bought some over the counter.

I have two 150mg tablets but not sure whether to take both at once or one today and one tomorrow.

Cheers,

BR

Good leaflet from the breast feeding network here with all the dosages etc. Print it out for your GP if you can - what an Arse!

Hi treacletart,
Thanks for the link. I have read this leaflet but it's all a bit vague which is why I was asking..... also twice a day for 10 days seems a bit OTT.

Just wanted to hear from anyone that has had this prescribed and what the dosage prescribed was.

Cheers,

BR

BR, I was prescribed two tablets of 150mg, I got them from an out-of-hours doc and an out-of-hours pharmacy and they didn't tell me how to take them
I took one then the other one 24 hours later, and slathered myself in canesten/dakatrin.
It went so I assume it worked!

Well on the info for health professionals bit it says 150-300mg as a loading dose and then 50-100mg twice daily for at least 10 days. So if you can see your gp tomorrow and get the lower follow on dose prescribed I'd take them both today - if you can't see them till Tuesday maybe you could take the second tomorrow to keep you ticking over. good luck

Cheers guys.. Will take one tonight and second tomorrow and if that doesn't work will tackle the GP again.
