I'm co-sleeping with DD2 who is 3 weeks old. This week I've noticed lumpy side of boob ( side nearest bed), but put it down to trying to feed lying down- it almost works but just doesn't quite feel right. I've also tried feeding from top boob and got lumpy on the lower side of that one. So, my solution was sit up to start feeds, make sure no lumps, all comfy, then lie down. We have only been sleeping on one side ( but feeding from both as normal)since scare with cat, so DD is safe in the middle of bed (CAT leaps across our bed and on way up landed on DD- DD fine, cat and me traumatised). Anyway, this am realised I HADN'T fed while sleeping, but side of boob lumpy- is it that I'm always sleeping on that side?
oh, norks big enough to get in the way at g/h cup.
thanks for any advice!!!

I'm not sure it's anything to do with how you're sleeping. I think breastfeeding just makes your boobs feel lumpy. As long as there's no hardening or pain which could be the beginning of mastitis, then it's probably all fine. You could try gently smoothing the lumps towards the nipple while your LO is feeding?
