I'm reverting back to ebf, but lo is only on the boob for like, 3mins and then starts messing about as if he's had enough. He then seems not to want anymore.

I don't get it. I keep wanting to whip out the formula and top him up.

How old is your baby, horsy?

He's 15 weeks. I have been mixed ff/bf and am trying to go back to ebf. He gets a bit frustrated I think at the fact that he has to work a little harder, but if i then give him some formula he'll take a couple of ounces more for the novelty of it than anything and then lose interest again. Often he will throw the excess up! I don't know why i give it to him I'm just so insecure about my supply.

He's gaining weight fabulously and was before when i was ebf. He's always been fidgety.

Sounds like a speed-feeder. Maybe your let-down is quick and he just guzzles efficiently in 3 minutes what others get in 10-20. Doesn't sound like any reason for using formula.

I agree with thinkstoomuch, some babies are just more accomplished at getting what they need quickly.
Have you tried cutting out bottles altogether and seeing how he does?
Your supply will most likely be fine as long as he suckles, it is on demand, more baby feeds, more you make, try not to worry.
