whats the longest anyone has bf for?

im on a back to nature economy drive dd is 11 months, and i plan to keep bf her for as long as possible.
also to save money
so what the longest i could hope for?
i enjoy bf her so im happy to bf for a v v long time yet

I'm 15 months and counting but I know there are others that have done it ALOT longer

There are MNers that have made it to 3+ I think

I also saw a telly thing a while ago about extended breastfeeding and the longest fed on that was 5yo or thereabouts iirc

I gave up in January when I was very unwell, but if it wasn't for that I'd still be bf now. My son will by 3 in July, so 2 and a half years here!

Just over 4 years with DS#2. The last year or so only at night.

3.5 years so far but ds1 has the appetite of a horse so it's hardly saving us money on food!

DS has just self-weaned at 3yrs 10 months.

DD fed until she was 3 and something. Can't say excely because didn't really think about it. just did it and she just gradually stopped

weaned DS2 at 3 years 5 months because of lactose intolerance,DD1 still going strong at 3 years 1 month

I think Franny BF'd for 4 years.

GreenMonkies is still going at over 4.5 yrs (she was on LK Today recently TF, so may be who you're thinking of).

Yup, my current tally is for DD1 is four years 8 months and three weeks, the last 23 months have been in tandem with DD2. No sign of stopping for either of them yet!

DS is 13 months and still feeding like a 4 week old, however he has been ill for ages and is only just rediscovering food, I'm a bit that he may start cutting right down. Today he drank cows' milk for the first time without pulling a face and pushing it away

I am bfing dd2, who turned 3 last month, as I type this! I have been bfing for over 5 years, because I tandem-fed dd1 and dd2 together when dd2 was little. DD1 stopped at 2 and a half years old - it's quite common for toddlers to wean themselves between the ages of 2 and 3.
