My LO has been constantly sick for 4 months since starting Nursery, the coughing often triggers vomiting at nap time and night, the reflex is now so ingrained it doesn't even take much sometimes, just a splutter. Saw a Dr about one of his many coughs in December who wasn't surprised or worried by the vomiting, we've moved dinner earlier and try to do a light tea to help and sometimes it's fine (maybe like 50% of the time).. but sometimes it's not - he's been sick on me 3 times in 12 hours! It's obviously not very nice and really disruptive to his already disrupted sleep. One of the issues is since he's been ill we've started feeding to sleep again, sometimes he's so miserable from illness, being overtired from Nursery or teething and breastfeeding soothes him instantly. My partner thinks all the milk is making it worse (I don't disagree it probably is) and wants me to stop BFing. I know it makes the vomiting worse, but it's not the cause - the coughing is - and it's the one thing guaranteed to get him to sleep in these miserable months. We're really struggling, everyone says how hard the first birthday winter colds are, but no one I know seems to have had the vomitting to contend with. A little bit lost as to what's best for him.
