Ask for gel instead. Doesn't need to be drops.

Yorkiegirl (change of subject) but did your coil really fall out? well not that much really because mine did as well but I thought it was relatively rare. Do you mind me asking what your plans are? I've not done anything about mine despite it being 2 months since the scan partly because I'm bf still. Would like another coil but what if it comes out again.

If it's that bad wouldn't Diflucan be quicker and more effective, Mears?

mears · 11/01/2005 22:48

I think I would see how the topical treatment goes ffirst.

Here is useful info on Diflucan though if gel/cream doesn't help

here

It is an anti-fungal tablet you take to get rid of thrush (which is a fungal infection). It is commonly used for vaginal thrush and it only needs to be one tablet for that.I have found it very effective myself. You take one tablet and the thrush clears within 24-48 hours.
It is also effective for breastfeeding thrush but not all doctors are comfortable with prescribing it. The recommended dosages are at the bottom of the page of the link as it is more than one treatment. It works much more quickly.

If no improvement over next 2 days I would ask for Diflucan.

How's it going Yorkiegirl?

eidsvold · 14/01/2005 11:39

the creme you were probably given was an oral gel - I had that when I got thrush on my nipples... had the oral gel for me and the nystatin drops for dd. The gel cleared it up in no time and I just had to put it on after each feed. The pain went sooo quickly once I started using the gel.

hope it is better now...
