2 days in. Cracked nipples already. Can't remember when my milk's going to come in.

Argh! Sore nips. Latch problems? And just sheer man-hours of having a baby on my boob I think.

I had a horrible BF start last time so I was expecting to have to persevere this time. Oh the pain. Have found details of a Babycafe local to me so will go down there tomorrow. Alllll he wants to do it feed which is great but ohhhhhh the pain. Was so determined not to get cracks this time. Are they inevitable? Have got lansino. Got a feeding cushion. Got breast pads. Got DP rocking him soothingly downstairs.

Sorry this is all a bit dijointed - only just home from hosp and haven't really slept since sat night.

He's comfort sucking which is FINE but when sucking for comfort rather than because he's just woken and is hungry, he doesn't open his mouth wide enough.

Please give me encouragement and helpful tips that my raddled brain can't recall right now.

When will my milk come in? That'll help things won't it?

don't let the nips dry
keep putting on the lansinoh
if he isn't latched properly, take him off and try again

how are things this morning?

I'm being a bit mean mum and am stopping dd (7 days) comfort sucking in the hope of helping my sore nipples a bit. She guzzles away happily for 20 or so minutes then would like to just suck for as long as I would let her. am unlatching and leaving her to nuzzle up to my boob instead - she doesn't seem to mind and I am less sore.
