I'm coughing so much so violently she can't stay latched on .
I've been to the doctors and its just a normal virusy bug, not in my lungs so shouldn't last long. I've had about 10 hrs sleep in total since Wednesday (in labour thursday night), and had oppertunity of 2 hours this morning- but coughins so much I couldn't sleep.
My cold does seem to be improving- I had a steamy shower and couldn't stop coughing during, but my nose and head feel a little clearer now. I was going to use olbas oil but not suitable around DD2.
I'm having original strepsils but I'm not sure they're actually doing anything, and DH keeps making me hot lemon and honey.
PLease help, I can't think what to do, and I think baby blues are hitting too.

paracetamol, loads of warm water

you can take normal cold and flu tablets even though the packet says otherwise. it is a clause to protect the manufacturers becuase they have not been tested on bfing women.

Paracetamol. And get plenty of rest - if you can, take to your bed with your baby.

And when you get a little better, start those pelvic floor exercise - lots of them - as coughing this soon after childbirth will put a strain on an already weakened pelvic floor.

And congratulations!

thanks ladies, and trying like mad with pelvic floor excercises-yesterday the cough beat my pelvic floor- thought I was doing well until then. I'm taking paracetamol, forgot to mention that. thank you so much. DH is going to help us get to the chemists- fresh air and change of scenery might help, and hopefully I'll get a helpful one. Sorry, just panicking a bit earlier.
thanks again
