The only time i manage to get a decent amount expressed is the very odd time he has slept through a bit longer in the day and I have expressed in between feeds, or when I had to spend the day away from DS I had to leave DS with cartons of sma, that day I managed to express 6ounces of milk in 10 mins (3ou from each) if i express after a feed its painful and I hardly get anything out!! I really want to stockpile a few bottles so when I leave him with my mum or dh he can have breaaastmilk and not formula xx

On first feed of morning, stick him on one boob and the pump on the other.

he normally has both boobs though (even though they are ready to explode) he must a greedy little thing? Maybe I will try giving him just one boob??

If he is hungry, then put him back on either drained breastfed boob or the drained expressed one. You wil lmake more.

I used to express the same time every morning in between feeds (around 10 o'clock). After a while my body seemed to realise I needed more milk at this time and rose to the challenge!

No.it's not dumb.
It all takes practice.
Persevere with the expressing, them ore you pump the more you get.

I had to leave a daily bottle for ds from aBOUT 3 WEEKS AND THIS WORKED OUT FINE FOR ME.
