latch not quite right - how to get baby to open mouth wide enough?

dd3 is 12 days old. She seems to be feeding off the nipple, which is uncomfortable. I have trouble getting her to open her mouth wide enough. She also likes to play the 'tennis game' - i.e. waving her head back and forth madly excited but not pausing long enough to get the nipple in.
Suggestions?

Have you tried doing breastcrawl ? When DS was tiny I loved to get in the bath with him and watch him wiggle over and latch himself on. Was def his best latches.
