Do you still need to sterilise if making up formula for an older baby (>1yr)

I am a formula virgin. DD has been bf up to now. I am happy to continue but I am heartily sick of expressing for her when I'm at work 3 days/wk.

She has a cows milk protein allergy and is very small

no

Thanks for that I had hoped not.
What about making it in advance and keeping in her lunchbox in the fridge? I know you are strictly not supposed to but is it less of an issue with an older child.

nah - I just make sure I give it a good wash in very warm water, rinse in hot. I would ask the childminder to make it up as she goes. You can use the formula containers with the ready made amount measured out in it and then she can do it as she goes.

Formula containers eh? Now you see this is the kind of thing I am a bit clueless about.
