How many BFs for 6 month old eating 3 meals?

Hiya

Have recently started DS on 3 meals a day at the moment day looks like this

7am BF
8am breakfast
11:30-12 lunch
2pm BF
5 dinner
6:30 BF and bed

I am worried that he is not getting enough milk and that I am pushing him to go too long between feeds, does this look normal or do you think he should be BFing more? He does sometimes seem cranky about 11 but still settles for a nap after lunch, I am just feeling a bit nervous that my supply will drop. What have others done at the same age?

I used to give my LO a BF for his 'morning snack' as well but mainly because he was a nightmare napper and the only way to get him to have two naps a day was to BF before each one. Not sure if that was right! Sounds like you are far more organised than i was.

milk is the most important part of their diet til they are one, so no hurry to replace the milk with food. having said that,
ds1 and ds2 had a bit of a structure to their feeds, something like
bf
breakfast then another bf
mid morning snack and bf
lunch then bf
mid afternoon bf
tea
bf

so quite a few more at 6 months but by 9 months it was down to 3 bf a day, then 2 bf a day at 12 months
dd on the other hand is 13 months and still has about 6 feeds a day but she is more of a snacker. i guess it depends how much they have at each feed as well
