Axifeed storage bottles - any good? Which pumps do they fit?

am fed up with blardy milk milk bags - two a day is costing me a fortune and I resent giving money to Mothercare

do they fit a normal Avent (or Tommy Tippee) pump or does one need to decant?

The first hospital we were in with DD had them and I also used them when expressing later on as I donated milk. They don't fit on an Avent pump as they are the standard narrow neck size, but would screw on to an Ameda or Medela. Dunno about tommee tippee as I never used these. If you are re-using them, I don't know if they'll withstand a steam steriliser or not but will be fine in Milton provided you clean them properly.

Have you tried Lansinoh bags? I found them v good and much quicker to defrost than bottles.

They are [http://www.richardcassidy.co.uk/axifeed.htm narrow necked]] so won't fit your pump. Is decanting a problem? Can you find cheaper bags?

narrow necked

can you not put avent bottles in the freezer?

if not you'd do just as well to get a new breastpump, get a medela one then you can use their bottles which can be frozen, or the axifeed ones

Get TT storage lids and I will send you 4 bottles. DD doesn't like them!

Not sure how long they'd take to defrost though?

thanks for all the help

  • defrosting time isn't a problem as they thaw slowly in the coolbag on the way to nursery.
  • freezer space is a problem, hence my fancy for cuboidal easily-stackable bottles
  • we don't have lots of bottles at home, just the two that came with the pump, as they provide them at nursery
  • am reluctant to change pump as my TT one is teeny weeny, silent and works, but don't mind pumping into one bottle and pouring it into sommat else to store.

Maybe I'll just try and source cheaper bags...

Try ebay for bags. The offer on the bottles still stands!
