Mixed feeding help

Hi all

Desperately seeking some help on mixed feeding, current situation is making me pretty anxious.

My little one has been on breast and bottle since birth (started during a hospital stay) using expressed colostrum/ milk. He’s just under 2 weeks old.

We have 2 issues -
He will only fall asleep after a breast feed not a bottle feed. It’s as though for some reason he fights sleep after the bottle feed. We’ve tried a dummy (he is exhibiting colic symptoms when both breast and bottle fed) and it soothes him but not enough to send him off to sleep. I can’t feed him lying down in bed at night (and then using safe cosleep practices) due to his need to be vertical after feeds to try to stop him sicking the milk back up and it’s making me anxious about falling asleep with him on me. Since he won’t go down off the bottle it’s making it very tricky for my husband to help me share the load. Does anyone happen to have any words of wisdom on suggestions on what to try to get a baby down to sleep after a bottle feed please?

Secondly;
He will take a bottle but only a very specific one; the ones given in hospital with a very slow flow teat. https://teat.shop/teat-latex-small.html?gad_source=1&gclid=Cj0KCQjwsPCyBhD4ARIsAPaaRf0s1bdX4lAD4PTELI0hhspmayIch1Qeo1Vzr9iqkzKwmgF0aOLF5k0aAoowEALw_wcB. Does anyone have any suggestions of similar reusable teats to try please?

Many thanks in advance for any help.

I think it's pretty normal for a two week old to associate BFing with sleep and comfort. He will probably grow out of it but he's so tiny still, it's likely that he hasn't even worked out that you're two separate people

Can't help with the bottle though sorry.

Thanks, I’m sure you’re right it’s just so hard trying to figure out the best way to do everything such that he’s safe while so sleep deprived and also keeping milk in his tummy and keeping him fed and as comfortable as possible! He slept a smidge more last night though so feeling a tiny bit more refreshed today!
