Anyone know 4 week limit on powdered milk once opened ?

Hi,

I didnt know there was a short life for such a products as breasftfeeding and trying to introduce formula with weaning ... i dont use that much.

yes, there is a 4 week life on it once opened.
you could always express milk to use when weaning, or use a bit of cows milk is baby is over 6 months.
or use the cartons of ready made formula.
you can sometimes buy smaller packs of powder, but not everywhere sells them

write the date opened on the lid - or write on the use by date

Oops! I never knew that. Chucked our (maybe) third tin of the stuff recently which had been open about 6 months. (Ds2 is now 15 months and had it every now and then when I was able to palm a feed off onto someone else.) The others were similarly ancient by the time they ran out.
I'm not aware it had an adverse effect on him though.

probably mould spores and flour beetle. Hipp have a 21 day limit on theirs but they do 2 sachets, so I don't end up wasting it
