DS is nearly 5 mths and exc BF. We've tried and tried to get him to take a bottle and he's having none of it. Ican't cope with sleepless nights anymore so DH is going to have DS for the day on Saturday whilst I take DS1 out for the day so that he' will have to take a bottle if he's hungry. Anyone elses DP's done this? Needless to say DH is terrifed!

You could try feeding using a nipple shield for the day or so before and that should hopefully help with the seperation.

PS You can get from most chemists or boots and mothercare.

I had to make my dd go cold turkey when she was a 12 mths. only bf at night, refusing beakers during the day, and then she started biting! Had to be me, as dh never wakes up to the dcs at night.

took willpower, and she WAS not amused, but on the 3rd night she'd cracked. expect your ds will be the same but will probably give in when the tummy becomes too empty, at his age, fairly quickly.

Mr Holymoly, you will be fine. best of british!

Get dh to wrap the bottle in a bra that you've worn, so it smells 'right'. Worked for us (although ds was younger).
