Baby won’t latch on breast or bottle

Hi everyone, looking for some advice. My 11 wk old DD was born via emergency C section in December. Week 3 we went to a breastfeeding support group as she wasn’t latching well. They suggested we went to a tongue tie clinic which we did and turns out she had a posterior TT. She had it cut, then again 2 weeks later as things still hadn’t improved.

I still go to the BF group every week to try new things. We are now 4 weeks post TT cut. I’ve tried every BF position, every bottle type, teat size etc. she is taking in so much air at every feed, I’ll sit her upright until she burps but she still ends up squirming all the time and rarely sleeps for longer than 2-3 hours at a time.

If she could latch well on a bottle then I would just bottle feed her but it’s just as bad if not worse on a bottle. She’s gaining weight fine and lots of nappies etc but just sooooooo uncomfortable and farts all the time!

any help/ advice is much appreciated!!!

x

She may not be latching on the 'right' way, but sounds like she's getting the breastmilk she needs, so something is working.

My ETB baby was waking for a feed a couple of times at night at this age - I fed and back to the cot so that both of us woukd hopefully get back to sleep.

How are her nappies? Could she possibly have allergy to cow’s milk (can come through breast milk if you have lots of dairy products)

Nappies are fine. I considered that but I don’t think it’s anything in the diet.

I definitely have a forceful let down (can see it spraying out). It has slowed down loads since she was tiny but still there. I can’t feed in laid back position as the latch slips every time and we end up back at square one. I’ve also tried nipple shields but the latch is still poor on those!
