help - 4 month old really off his food

4 month old FF DS has started being really fussy with the bottle - he'll cry for a feed, and then have about 1oz, but then will scream and put the bottle out.

I'm really worried, he's been doing this for a few days now - yesterday he only had 3 x 6oz feeds, when he normally has 6-7!

He's also very unsettled at the moment, waking every 2-3 hours in the night, not necessarily for food..

-Any suggestions welcome please..

Could he be teething?
Does he have any teething symptoms?
My DD was about 4 months when she cut her first tooth.

Yes.. I think that's what it must be. Just after posting that message he got incredibly stroppy and upset.. have resorted to baby neuofen (calpol didn't seem to do anything) and he's been happy as anything ever since!

...and I thought all his night waking was because he wasn't getting enough food.

I wouldn't worry too much. I spent a lot of time worrying about my little one when she was teething. If you think about when you have tooth ache, you don't really fancy eating and i'm sure it's the same for DS. Keep offering him his feeds and i'm sure he will take them when he's ready. Good luck

Also you could try Ashton and Parsons teething powder. I found this very useful when my DD was teething.

THanks a lot for your replies Sparkly - much appreciated.

All my helpful Mother said was that he needed solids.

Grrr..

Happy to give him rice if he's draining bottles, but he's not even managed 3 today

wind? poorly? teething?

is he well? happy in the day?

mine used to have fussy phases, and then made up for it the next week with gallons of milk
