Fussing at the breast - did I eat something bad?

Two week old baby, he's developed this annoying trait of fussing like mad at my breast - not latching on (he knows how to do it!), shaking his head furiously around the nipple, roaring with rage. Is this impatience at the let-down (I can't feel this, but I think it comes pretty fast), or did I maybe eat something he hates? I can't find a thread about 'suspect' foods that might make the milk taste rank - could someone point me to one, if it's here, please?

I should say that he's a lot worse on my left boob (where he feeds conventionally, tummy to mummy) and takes my right one a lot better (rugby ball/under arm hold, he actually grabs the boob with both hands and latches himself on!). Maybe it's a positioning problem?

Any advice welcomed! We've only been doing this two weeks and are complete boob noobs!

Ds2 does this and my let down is too fast.

Could be - he gets so wet - and so does the nipple - that he slides off and can't latch. I have to keep mopping up with a tissue so he can try again! This is the breast that leaks when he cries, come to think of it. Is there anything I can do about that, or is it just a problem?

i am experiencing the same prob with ds 4weeks thought maybe he had trapped wind that was distracting him from latching on properly although also worried that its nipple confusion cos he needs a dummy during the day when he's not feeding

Elliekat - I have a similar problem with my right boob which every now and then goes into overdrive and spurts milk everywhere choking poor DS! Have you seen the Kellymom website? It's brill here is a link on forceful letdown But there is loads of other stuff on there that you might find helpful including this for new mums
The stuff on cluster feeding saved my sanity. HTH good luck
