Red Bush tea for breastfed 3 month old?

Hello, sorry if this isn't the right plac to post.

I am breastfeeding my 3 month old DD but she get bad colic and has mild reflux. She also doesn't sleep well and is very irritable at times.

I have been recommended to give her red bush tea (by a friend, not a professional). I have offered it once and she really liked it, which was a breakthrough in itself as she had stopped taking to a bottle and I need her to take expressed milk as I go to college part time.

However, somebody said to me that it shouldn't be given before 6 months? I have googled it and didn't find any age recommendation and only heard good things, but would like to know that it can't do any harm before I continue.

Anybody know?

I personally wouldn't give it direct to the child. Are you sure its not meant for you to drink it so that she gets the benefits of it when it comes to her via the breast milk? I was advised to drink fennel tea when bf for colic as fennel is good for the digestion. But the instruction was clear for ME to drink it, not the baby.

No, definatly for babies, and alot of the wesites I found on a google search say it's fine to give to babies, but it doesn't say an age or anything.

It does also say about drinking whiles pregnant and breastfeeding, but that definatly was not all it was saying.

I have a friend who gives it to her DS but he is about 10months now but has had it from birth.

Best health outcomes in babies are seen in those who are excl bf for 6 mths, chloe....that mans no water, no foods, no formula, no teas, redbush or otherwise. International recommendations are crystal clear on this.
