Sounds like a blocked duct. Hot flannels on it and try to massage it out if it's not too painful? Keep feeding on that side - if you can work the position so that your baby's chin is pushing against the lump that might help to work it through. If it gets worse ring the doctor.

If it's hot and red looking then you should get it looked at asap, though. These things always happen on a Sunday don't they?

It sounds like you've got a blocked milk duct.

Keep feeding from the breast
Massage the breast
Put your hand into a fist and sort of roll it down from the top of your breast to the nipple (support the breast with your other hand)
It may be more comfortable to do the above two in the shower with the shower head directed onto your breast.

The above should help (keep repeating at regular intervals until the blick has gone), blocked ducts are usually quite easy to rectify.

But, if you start to feel a bit flu like (mastitis), go straight to bed, take paracetamol and keep feeding. If you feel truly awful, speak to an out of hours Dr.

Also, did this happen overnight? If so and you're wearing bra's with seams in, you may want to ditch them as this can be the cause.

Good luck xx

kelbel, it definitely sounds like a blocked duct. Take a look at this thread which has advice that might help you.

Keep feeding on that side, and check to see if you have a plugged nipple pore. If you do, you may be able to resolve this quickly. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you. Keep us posted.

I hope everything is going ok. Hopefully by tonight you'll notice the lump has gone down or has gone. If not, carrying on with what you are doing.

It sounds like you have every reason to be pleased with yourself! Well done
