Bottle refused help!

I want to stop breastfeeding 😭 I've struggled and struggled. My baby is just 10 weeks old today. He used to take a bottle from DH when I was sleeping. But now he screams and screams like we are killing him if we try and give him a bottle. Doesn't matter what time of day or night. He sometimes sucks it for a bit but never drinks more than 10ml from it

I really wanted to wean him onto formula at four or five months. Now I'm scared.

Any advice or similar situations with positive ending?

They have breast preference. You'll need to go slowly and reduce feeds over a few days and work towards introducing bottles. It's not easy to just switch from breast to bottle as you'll engorge. Slow and steady.

Problem is that I always get DH to try and do the bottle feeds while I try and take a break. But baby gets more and more upset. Screaming, arching his back, coughing and gagging. I can't bare it so in less than 5 minutes I go in and get my boobs out. Lately it's always the last feed before bed we've tried. Usually he's already started to moan a bit before crying.

I wonder if we should try a different time... sometimes DH takes him around 7.30am before work so I can rest until 9am or on the weekend longer but he won't drink. He doesn't cry on the morning attempts just pushes bottle around in his mouth and won't drink.

It's completely normal for baby to feed to sleep. It's not just food, it's comfort and security. I would advise you speak to a breastfeeding support group for advice on introducing bottles.
