He has been grazing all day, and pulling off, crying at every feed. I think he is teething, would this cause this?

yeah could be teething. is he ill in any other way as well? cold, blocked nose?

Ceolas · 09/03/2008 21:44

No signs of thrush? White patches in his mouth? I had this with my DS. Could well be teething though.

SparklyGothKat · 09/03/2008 21:46

no thrush, but has a bit of a cold.

B wouldn't feed very well yesterday evening. Fed fine in the night though! She is ten months and is getting over an ear infection and cold. Could be teeth for us too though as she has been very grumpy today! She fed beautifully though - maybe Callum will be back into it tomorrow

Have you tried feeding lying down? Catching him when he's sleepy? Sometimes I can get a good feed in with a fussy baby that way.

SparklyGothKat · 09/03/2008 21:48

i hope so. I have only just got him back to full bf

teeth and cold could definitely do it. both my ds's did it with colds because they couldn't breathe properly through their noses whilst feeding

NorthernLurker · 10/03/2008 14:56

SGK - is he feeding today?

SparklyGothKat · 10/03/2008 17:49

SparklyGothKat · 10/03/2008 17:51

hopefully he's on an upward curve with it though - does sound like he's been a bit under the weather. Does he still have a night feed?

pukkapatch · 10/03/2008 18:13

this is unrelated to topic. but every time i see callum's name, i get a little shock. i think he is the only child on mn referred to by his first name in thread titles.

SparklyGothKat · 10/03/2008 18:39

PP. I think what it is, when he was born prematurely everyone was on the thread and knew his name anyway, so I just carried on. I don;t give out the other kids names.

He still has a night feed [tired]

B often does as well - at least when they're ill the night feed gives you another chance to get stuff into them - she never refuses it!!
