Moving a bottle feed from a dream feed to a bedtime (7pm) feed

My DD is 4.5 mths and was fully breastfed until about 3 weeks ago when we introduced a bottle of formula at the 10:00-11pm feed. She has always had a feed at this time but I am wondering whether to try and stop it because I don't really like waking her up for to feed. The feed is somewhere in-between a proper awake feed and a dream feed - she is never quite awake but not totally asleep and goes straight back to sleep afterwards.

Before we started the bottle she would sleep through sometimes until 1-1:30am from 7-7:30pm, now she goes to about 3:30am on a good night. I don't want her to go back to waking at 1:30am again but thinking at some point she will hopefully sleep through from 7 to 3am. Haven't even thought yet about how we get her to do the 12 hr 7-7 stretch!

Anyone had experience with cutting out the 10-11pm feed or moving a bottle feed to 7-7:30pm from 10-11pm?

Hi Nic - dd2 was ff and we always did the dream feed at 11pm. But at about 5months, she went from being quite a good sleeper to waking up at 1am, then 2am etc etc. So one night we just dropped the dream feed and she went right from 7pm to about 2am (this was a world record . So we just thought, oh well, might as well drop it then. And from then on, she just kept going for longer and longer stretches.

I think the dream feed works for some, but not for others... I think we were just upsetting her natural sleeping pattern and she was never getting the chance to "learn" how to sleep for a long stretch. Dropping the dream feed was the best thing for all of us!
