How do I go about it? After my experience with BF Callum the last 6 months, I have realised how much I didn't know and now have learnt, and would like to help other women going through similar things.

There are different organisations that do it. You could see if your local PCT does a course. Sure Start, NCT and LLL are other possibilities. I'm sure others will know of other places and have more information.

I am doing mine through the local PCT, I will be working self employeed for the NHS and will be doing as many hours as I want to, it's enough to cover me for how much I get at the moment with my benefits.

I am about to apply to become a Mother Supporter with the ABM - is that the kind of thing you mean? It's all on their website. It also goes on to do a full bfc course but I don't think I have the time for that commitment at the moment, would love to do it in the future if I can.

Stealthpolarbear whats the ABM?

SGK freinds say this to me as I am very pro bf and try to help them out. I always thought you needed to train for 3 years though.

I became a peer supporter with my local SureStart who run a course administrated by La Leche League-trained staff.

It is a 13 week course with each session lasting two hours.

There are more involved things you can do, like becoming a LLL Leader, or a BFC with the ABM or NCT, and these are far more detailed and take much longer.
