can breast feeding make you hormonal still?

my moods have been up and down not sure if its tirdness or was wondering if it can be hormones baby is 7wks.

It takes ages for your hormones to settle down, but if you think your moods are getting worse talk to your HV. I think things usually settle down by about 12 weeks; iirc this is when I had my visit from our practice's mental health nurse to make sure things were OK. she also did the Edinburgh test which assesses you for potential PND.

Take care of yourself in the meantime and try not to be superwoman

Breastfeeding, exhaustion and the godawful realisation that it's for life IME makes you completely crazy.

SML that's spot on lol. Hormones are all over the place the first few months regardless. I found that bf was the only time I sat down and had a good think and that in itself was never a good thing for my mood!

Also, I was soooo worried about weight gain, latch, sleep, poos, routines etc etc that I don't think I could relax. It was only once we were a few months down the line and DS was thribving that I got any confidence in the whole thing.
