DD2 is 11 months now... can I give her cow's milk or still too soon?

I've got half a tub of formula left and I'm REALLY reluctant to buy any more (thieving formula maunfacturing rob dogs etc)...

... so I know I'm officially supposed to wait til she's 12 months and everything. But would it really be the end of the world if I start giving full fat cow's milk to her after this tub has finished?

She was over a week late arriving in the world too...

Can't remember what I did with dd1 - it was 11 years ago!

I started introducing cows milk at about 11 mths. Do it gradually over a week to make sure she doesn't have and reaction and let her get used to the taste!

Thanks Nicky - did you just do it with one bottle a day to see how it all went?

i mixed it with her formula - half and half - for a few feeds a day and worked up from that.

I finished breast feeding DD2 when she was 10 months. She really hated formula and the bottle, so at about 10 1/2 months i put her onto cows milk in a beaker. I think that as long as they are getting a varied nutritional diet, milk is becoming secondary at this stage any way.

Yes, drivin' - she has a v.good diet. Eats like a horse . We only give her a bottle first thing in the morning, and last thing at night. More of a comfort thing than anything. So I'm not worried about nutrients or anything. Just didn't want to give her an upset stomach or anything.

I started DD1 on Cows Milk at 11 months as she hated formula and HV advised me to do so. You will be fine. Try and buy Organic if you can afford it though.

I gave dd cows milk at 11 months when I went back to work. I also Bf her - at night. I asked to my breastfeeding specialist at the local hospital and she said it was ok to give cows milk.
