My 6 week old son had thrown up clear fluid twice today. This morning there wasnt much, but this evening there was more?
Does anyone know what is it?
Is it normal, or do i need to get him checked out??

My 4 month old has been doing the same - she has been quite fussy over eating for a few weeks now, sometimes taking only half the usual amount of formula when previously she had always taken her milk well. It seems she is sick a clear fluid on the days when she has had less milk.
I'd be interested to see if anyone knows anythiong about this - or like you didsnbump, I'd like to know if it is normal or should be checked out.

hi. is your son feeding well, just the same as usual? is he more sleepy then usual? these are the signs you must look for. if baby has gone off feeds or you cannot wake him then you need to seek medical help..sorry im not trying to alarm you.

well, if you are absolutley sure he is normal..waking for feeds, looking alert when he is awake..i would'nt worry too much but keep a very close eye on him. it sounds to me as if he is getting rid of some mucus from his passages, maybe worth a mention to you health visitor. x

hmm my ds2 does this. I hadn't really thought anything of it til I saw this thread though lol.
he is 17 weeks and has always done it I think.
no idea what it is though

My baby used to do this when he was only a few weeks old and breastfed. I don't know what it was, he only did it a few times. Didn't seem to bother him and he was feeding enough and having plenty of wet and dirty nappies. He doesn't do it now (6m)

If you're worried you could call your hv

Hi,

my ds had what I thought was clear vomit, at about 12 weeks which the GP said was stomach acid and that he had reflux.

But he had other symptoms - screaming when feeding (the acid must have been hurting his throat ) and refusing milk. He had also vomited up his milk after feeding since birth. H/V just kept saying he was mucousy.

He was ff

he was cured about 8 months - they grow out of it anyway I think - after having meds.

Just keep an eye out for other symptoms but it may be nothing to worry about.
