my work here is done

didn't mean to finish quite this ealry (ds2 7mo) but it was a case of introduce mix feeding and before you know it you've scrapped the boob

anyway, am happy that i have done a decent job of bfing two babies

but felt i should stand up and say adieu to the act of love that i have enjoyed

(is that melodramatic? i have had 2 glasses of wine so cannot tell)

oh tutter
you will make me cry
I love feeding gecko, even though its an all night thing too even now at 12 months

Smithy · 24/02/2008 20:47

Awww Tutter,
I have such fond memories of b/feeding both my sons. So very nearly gave up with ds1 but kept going. Ended up feeding them both until their 3rd birthdays!

dewmeadow · 24/02/2008 20:49

tutter - my DD2 is also 7 months and I am only feeding her part time due to returning to work for 1 or 2 days, but I want to do the night thing as long as I can!! I dont want this stage to be over!!!

Hugs , I know how you feel when had had the last feed with my DC it was hugely emotional. I think if you know its your last child it maximises that feeling.
Just be pleased with yourself for continuing this long and have an extra glass of wine for good measure.

Congratulations

I stopped feeding DS1 at 22m, but didn't feel a bit sad about it as I was 22w pg at the time. DS2 will be my last (according to DH!), so I'm sure when the time comes to stop feeding him, I'll be quite emotional. Feeding him is very very hard work, it's been painful and tiring, but only I can do it for him.

Well done to you & all us bfing mummies [pat on the back emoticon]

moondog · 24/02/2008 23:14

Well done Tutter. Huge pat on the back to yuo for a job done well and nobly.

Caz10 · 24/02/2008 23:44

well done!!
oh i am welling up just thinking about stopping, when all i ever do is complain about it just now, how contrary.
is all sadness tutter or some relief too? i'm in total awe of people who manage for so long

weeonion · 24/02/2008 23:47

well done tutter.

susiecutiemincepies · 24/02/2008 23:59

well done you
I have to say, I thought exactly that when DD finally took a bottle at nearly 12 months! She's nearly 14 months now.

I often think that we're winding it up to an end but then dd gets all interested again... we only really do it in the morning and before bedtime now, although thats the one that is really waining.. she loves her bottle at bed time. tonight, she went from one to the other, like she was doing the pepsi challenge or something!

I can't bare the thought of stopping at all, but i think the choice will not be mine really!

Still i am hoping we will have another, so may not be my last when it happens with DD... but who knows hey!!
