Breast Milk Supply

Hi all,

My child is 19 weeks old and i have been exclusively pumping since he was born.

In the last 2 weeks or so my milk volume has decreased significantly and I'm not sure what is causing this.

I started off pumping 7 times a day for the first 2 months and reduced it to 5 pumps a day. I have gone back to 7 pumps a day for the last week and if anything this now seems to have further reduced my supply.

Does anyone have any suggestions around how i can increase my supply again please?

Oats, nuts, dates, fennel tea, fenugreek tablets, most importantly lots and lots of water.

I'm still breastfeeding my 11 month old and I've had lower supply the last couple of days, feels like it might be because my cycles are starting up again finally. This happened around this time with my eldest and supply did pick up again within a few days.

Just to say fenugreek has been found to reduce supply in some women.

OP there is a group on Facebook for women who exclusively pump, they might be able to help.

The only suggestions I can make are; more skin to skin with baby and pumping at night as this is when your supply will be at its best.

Have you also tried power pumping?
