Does anyone have any advice to help improve feeding? My baby is 12 weeks and really struggles feeding, he takes anywhere between 2-6 ounces (usually the lower end) and feeds every 2-4 hours. Overnight he is just not interested in feeding, the past few nights he’s slept all the way through and if I try to wake him, he just falls straight back asleep. He is on Nutrimgen milk powder as there’s a suspected Cows milk allergy and his feeding definitely improved once he changed milk but I feel like we have hit a block again. He is still gaining weight but he has dropped 1.5 centiles since birth. I’m feeling really overwhelmed and like I’m doing something wrong but I just can’t get him to drink. Any help or advice is welcomed. Thank you.

I have been through a similar situation with my LO also has CMPA and silent reflux. I used to track how much milk he was drinking in 24 hours. He often refused bottles and at times I was feeding him 1oz an hour (recommended by the doctor) then I tried waiting as long as possible until he was starving, I tried waking him up when he was sleeping but regardless he always drank the same amount. Things massively improved since change of milk he’s on aptamil pepti one but his feeding is all over the place he never drinks a consistent amount of milk he’s 4 months and feeds 2-4oz every 2-3 hours. Sometimes he dose sleep through the night and wakes up and drinks 3oz. I don’t think there is much advice to offer as you can not force them, I think Iv just learnt to not worry. He is happy and content. I think we put pressure on ourselves, we worry that either we are doing something or there is some wrong with them. My LO dropped centiles but he gained it back. If he’s happy and healthy, then dose it really matter. I think Iv really learnt to just enjoy my baby and not worry, he drinks what he wants and needs. Roll on weaning, if things continue and he dose start losing weight you could consider weaning early. Enjoy your baby and follow your instincts, not every baby is a milk monster.
