4 month old bottle feeding aversion

Hi! I have a 4 month old who has been refusing her milk since around 2 months when she had oral thrush. Cleared up now but since then she has been diagnosed with silent reflux and CMPA and been in hospital been fed through an NG. She has been at home for about 3 weeks without the NG and the only way I can get anything in her is when she's asleep. She is on lansoprazole, carobel and changed her milk twice now althera to now alfamino and I still cannot feed her whilst she's asleep for the life of me. She screams and cries. I feel useless and feel like nothing is going to help at this rate! She has been examined and doesn't have a tounge tie either. Has anyone experienced this and what helped ?

I had a cmpa baby. Bouncing on a birthing ball whilst feeding helped. Can you start weaning early? Speak to your dietician.

Yes. It gets easier with time. When my DS hit 4.5/5 months he didn't want to be held to feed, he wanted to try and hold the bottle himself. Like magic he went from screaming constantly when feeding to enjoying it (with my assistance of course). Before I had to feed him whilst he was asleep.

He grazes when feeding, always has, but now fully hits his quota. At 6 months he is able to feed himself, I wish I had tried giving him the chance way before.

4 months might be a little early to try this, and every LO is different but keep going, you're doing nothing wrong.

Agree with PP about looking into weaning options

That sounds like hell. I had a baby with bottle refusal, silent reflux and CMPA. He’s on aptamil pepti one, thankfully this has worked for us although he drinks like a breastfeed baby. He’s all over the place at 4 months he drinks between 2-4oz every 2-3 hrs but thankfully he no longer refuses bottles. I did say to myself that if things continued they way they were I would wean at 4 months. It might be worth considering.
