How many coffees while breastfeeding?

I've found two NHS advice pages, one advised 200mg max and the other advised 300mg max. I drink ground coffee, not instant. At the moment, I'm having one a day but I'd really like to have two a day but don't know if this would be too much caffeine? Any advice appreciated, thank you

I can't advise on specifics, though 200mg rings a bell for me.

I only drink strong tea, but I found even one seemed to make my son unsettled in the newborn days. After a couple of months it didn't seem to bother him too much and now at 10 months I can have 3 a day with no effect. But he is 3 times his birth weight now.

So might depend on baby's size regarding what you can get away with. I'd suggest keeping it as low as possible though to start with.

As you can tell by my username I LOVE coffee 😂 I've been breastfeeding for 9 months and have 1 (sometimes 2 if its been a rough night) caffeinated coffees in the morning and about 2-3 decaf coffees throughout the day.

Couple of times a week will get a caffeinated coffee when out and about too.

I did abstain from caffeine as much as possible for the first 12 weeks as found it made my son restless, but doesn't seem to be an issue now!

How old is baby @Topazbutterfly?

According to Kellymom, caffine only stays in the blood for 2.6 hours once they hit 6 months.
