Baby claws my face while feeding

My 10 month old claws my face while feeding (breast and bottle). She grabs my lips or nose and sticks fingers in my mouth while clenching and unflinching her fist. She's very persistent. Giving her a distraction doesn't work anymore.

I know it's a comfort thing but is there anything I can do to discourage it? It's very uncomfortable at the time and she's starting to leave marks with her nails.

My eldest did this. I was black and blue when I fed her!!! I would take her off the boob (or stop feeding her the bottle) and very firmly say "NO" every time she did it. Also giving a fidgety toy for her to play with was good

Hold her hand while she feeds. I used to have to do that, had forgotten til I saw your post!

I try holding her hand but she gets very frustrated with that. Maybe I should try different objects like cables and necklaces

This. She’s old enough that she’ll learn very quickly to stop doing it.

I got a feeding necklace, totally did the trick! Deffs reccomend getting one (I got a gorgeous personalised one from Etsy but can get basic ones on Amazon)

What about a feeding necklace with those silicon things on that feel a bit skin like

My DD did this, every time she started I put her hand to my earlobe and she stroked that instead. You could try some BFing Jewellery though instead?
